An Available Enhancement To The Traditional 4WD System: An all-new Active Response 4WD System is available on the Next Generation Yukon. This system is designed to help the driver confidently maneuver in slick or off-road conditions, by seamlessly sending optimal torque to each wheel to help improve traction. The system is comprised of four fully-integrated features which work together to optimize traction:
Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD): Improves both traction on lower traction on lower traction surfaces and improves handling stability on higher traction surfaces. It does so by continuously monitoring input from the vehicle and seamlessly sending optimal torque to each wheel. Launching from a stop in slippery conditions, the eLSD clutch will immediately transfer power to high traction tire, but can be ramped down to make sure the rear end does not become unstable. Driver straight, the eLSD system engage slightly, to add stability and on center steering feel, plus eliminate engagement noise. It an emergency double lane change, it reduces sway by dampening the rear end motion. When towing, eLSD clutch can cancel out the pushing force of the heavy trailer.
First-In-Class Available Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension: Ride height control and variable air springs offer cloud-like comfort whether carrying a light or heavy load. When carrying heavy cargo or towing, load compensation leveling is enabled.
Improved Ground Clearance: The vehicle can raise 25 mm (1″) or 25 mm (2″) for improved ground clearance at low speed – ideal for off-roading maneuvering (4WD only).
Larger & Roomier Proportions: Bolder, taller, and longer proportions than previous model that make the Next Generation Yukon more eye-catches and appreciable than its predecessor. The longer wheelbase and new chassis systems create greater ride smoothness, particularly on uneven pavement and unpaved surface, with improved handling.
